Video Shooting Dates

I am thinking that we should be deciding on a date to shoot the video.  On May 3, we have to bring in an unedited video for viewing and discussion in the classroom so that means we have about 4 WEEKS to prepare for the filming and actually do the shooting!

Can you all please respond to this column and let me know what days of the week would work for you during the last TWO weeks of the month of April?  After I hear back of ALL OF YOU :) then we can decide on a specific date in our next class and put it on our calendars. Thanks guys!

Red-Wing Blackbird?

Hey Gracie, Autumn, and Laura!  I wonder if you guys should research the red-winged blackbird specifically.  I did a quick internet search on them and it looks like they can be quite vicious during mating and nesting season.  :)  We were actually dive-bombed by a red-winged blackbird several years ago while biking so I know that they do like to attack people. :)  The guy on the right does look pretty scary doesn't he????!!

Focus and Responsibility Report

Hey guys, does this look okay for our report that is due this Friday?  I did change around the jobs a little so make sure you take a look at your own jobs.  I think I was able to give each person at least one "bigger" job and then a couple of smaller ones. :)  Again, let me know if there are any changes you would like to make!

General Focus

The main focus of our worldview video will be media coverage for a news story that we will be making up!  Basically, we are hoping to explain and act out the news story (which will focus on a specific issue which may include blackbirds!) and then spend time pinpointing the problems and deciding how to best solve the root problem.  The end of the video will present a resolution to the entire story.  We are hoping to keep the overall movie somewhat humorous and fun but at the same time, have underlying threads of the Christian Worldview running through the entire film.

Potential (and very rough!) Outline

Hey guys!  Here is that potential outline I sent to you a couple of days ago.  Feel free to comment on it and add ideas or suggestions!

Part 1: Introduction - this could take place in the "TV station" maybe either on couches or behind a table.  Introduce the news story and quickly talk about the problem that they are faced with.  Turn over to the live scene. (1-3 minutes)

Part 2: Live at the scene - this could be in front of the place that is being attacked by wild crows or blackbirds.  This part could include interviews of different people and their views on the problem.  We could maybe zoom in on a couple of injuries to make the problem seem even worse :)  (3-5 minutes)

Part 3: Back at the news station - Talk about the severity of the problem.  Introduce a "blackbird specialist" who describes the nature of blackbirds and why they would act in this way.  The specialist could suggest a possible solution to the problem.  (2-4 minutes)

Part 4: This could be several days later or even a week later - this part could take place in the news station.  Provide an update on the blackbird issue and bring the news story to a close. (1-2 minutes)
